This children's book is unique in the genre because it crosses traditional age barriers for such an offering, and while it is similar to other ABC picture books, in that you can use it to teach children the letters of the alphabet, you can also place it into the hands of children of most any elementary school grade level to stir their inventive minds and artistic abilities early on in life. The book can also be given to middle school aged children, and even to high school students, where the idea is not simply to show them the inventions and inventors inside, but also to inspire their creativity and stimulate their young minds, when they're challenged near the end to imagine their own ideas and draw them out. The inventions that they'll draw onto the provided pages can then be shared with their classmates and family members. Another interesting note is that parents and educators who use this to teach younger children the alphabet or to challenge older children to dream up wonderful new ideas of their own, will also enjoy what they discover in The ABC's of African American Inventions, with each irresistible turn of the page. While most people don't start thinking about process improvements, or inventing new things until they're adults, imagine if at a young age children were to start looking at the world around them with their eyes focused on how they could improve life or create new devices? They'd be years ahead of their peers; see things in a new way, and there's no telling how such a head start might change their lives, and perhaps even ours. https://www.amazon.com/ABCs-African-American-Inventions/dp/1543185797

Hi Mr. Foreman. Thank you for meeting us back in 2011. My dad's dream was to meet you if he made it through his heart transplant. This picture was taken 2 months after his heart transplant. Look at that smile on his face. Well now I'm fighting for my life. I have stage 5 kidney failure and on dialysis. I also went blind completely from 1 eye and legally blind from my right. My dream is for my son to meet you. He also does boxing. I would like to see the smile on him like I did on my father. I hope this dream will be made possible while I'm alive. May God bless you and your family always💖

I was wondering if you could remember my Father Albert Patterson. He was the associate with Dick Saddler, your trainer and World Boxing Foundation out of Hayward. He worked closely with him but was the silent partner that was never mentioned. He has passed on Monday. It seems that he was never given his just due back in the 70's. I looked up to my dad and knew all the hard work he put into his job. I was hoping you could remember him and perhaps send any type of acknowledgment for his upcoming funeral. My name is Jacqueline and my brother Albert Jr.would surely and sincerly appreciate it. Thompson's Funeral Home 9900 E14th st Oakland Ca 94603
